DkIT (Dundalk Institute of Technology) has a very active ACM presence and a growing membership. We see a world where computing helps solve tomorrow’s problems – where we use our knowledge and skills to advance the profession and make a positive impact.
Background
ACM is one the biggest Computing Society in the world. DkIT ACM Student Chapter serves as a hub of activity for ACM members.
What We Do
We provide several services to the students, such as
- Organise trips to forums and/or talks
- Attend competitions like the AIB datahack & IRLCPC
- Help students to prepare for upcoming competitions
- Host work shops discussing good coding practice with an emphasis on Algorithms and Data Structures
- Cover fees for transportation and/or accommodation for competitions
- Organise nights out with prizes available via raffle and host an annual summer BBQ

- DkIT ACM Student Chapter won “The Best Overall Society” in DkIT Sports & Societies Awards 2019
- DkIT ACM Student Chapter won “The Most Improved Society” in DkIT Sports & Societies Awards 2018
