On 11th of April 2019, Dundalk IT held their annual Sports and Societies awards night in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk. The DkIT ACM Student Chapter claimed top prize when they received the ‘Best Overall Society’ award. The host for the night, Derek Crilly, lamented over the various successful events and competitions that were organised by the ACM Student Chapter. He also commented on the Chapter members, noting their selfless volunteer work throughout the year.

In 2018, the DkIT ACM Student Chapter were awarded the ‘Most Improved Society’ award – this gave our members the drive that they needed to succeed.

Chapter alumni, Sean Joyce, was awarded the ‘Honorary Member’ award.

Vice-President of the Chapter, James Farrell, collected an award for first-year students Vilandas Morrissey (Chapter Treasurer) and Luke Halpenny for finishing 3rd place in the LIT Games Fleadh Robocode event.

Overall, it was a successful night for the Chapter. We hope that the coming year will be as successful as our last.
